CHOKO have been raising money and supporting a variety of African Community Projects since 2005. Every year through WorldVision we seek to connect with these African communities through the linking of schools, churches and visits while also holding events in Cholsey to help fund vital projects that can help to improve living and healthcare standards and provide means for sustainable employment so helping communities to grow and overcome barriers to progress.
Last year we raised enough money to be able to fund three boreholes/wells to be built and sustained in Ntwetwe in Uganda.
See the video below of when Meghan Markle visited Rwanda with World Vision to understand about the borehole drilling process and what these sources of clean water mean to the communities they serve.
Every year, events such as the CHOKO Beer Festival and the CHOKO Colour Run help to raise thousands for these causes while also being able to support local charities and initatives in and around Cholsey. We hope that the generous people in our community that have so kindly supported these events over the years will continue to show their support and come grab a drink and sing a song or two at our Karaoke evening - a great way to have fun while helping to make a real difference to whole communities 4000 miles away.
